David Lock Associates is promoting the expansion of Elsenham to form a new market town within Uttlesford District in Essex.
The proposals for up to 5,000 homes have been identified as the preferred option for a sustainable new community of 3,000 homes by Uttlesford Council in its Local Development Framework and Government has also shortlisted the location as a possible Eco-town of 5,000 homes.
The new market town will include high standards of low carbon design across a full range of new homes, schools, jobs, shops, services, green infrastructure and public open spaces. Innovative proposals for a Co-operative will promote the ongoing management and governance of the new community and ensure the full sustainability benefits of the development are delivered.
