North Northamptonshire has been identified by the Government as a special area for urban expansion within the Milton Keynes and South Midlands Growth Area. David Lock Associates are currently preparing a sub-regional strategy for North Northamptonshire on behalf of Bee Bee Developments for the next 30 years. As part of this, we are preparing master plans for the major urban expansion of Corby, East Kettering and Wellingborough, which together will form a new regional city. Having received outline planning consent at Priors Hall in Corby, we are now involved in the detailed implementation including the preparation of a design code. The planning applications for Wellingborough and East Kettering will be submitted shortly.
Proposals for each of the three towns share some common elements: a sustainable urban extension linked directly to regeneration projects within the existing towns; landscape and green infrastructure plans and a need to identify a clear purpose for each town within the regional city.
