Station Hill, Reading
Location: Reading
Client: Sackville Developments (Reading) Ltd
David Lock Associates have recently submitted a planning application for Sackville’s proposals to transform Station Hill into a vibrant new urban quarter. The mixed use scheme with a floor area of some 132,000 square metres includes offices, apartments, ground floor retail interspersed with bars, restaurants and food outlets, an arts venue, a new MRT stop and new public spaces.
The scheme consists of a family of tall buildings around a new Central Square that will reinforce Station Hill’s central location and change the skyline of Central Reading. The tallest building is 33 storeys and marks the eastern limit of the site adjacent to Reading Station. The proposal marks the beginning of an exciting new phase in the transformation of Reading into the capital of the Thames Valley with the provision of quality residential and commercial space into one of the South East’s most sustainable and accessible locations.
