Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation commissioned David
Lock Associates to prepare a Spatial Plan for its administrative area, which is
co-terminus with that of Thurrock Council and lies at the heart of the Thames
Gateway. The Spatial Plan will cover the period to 2021 and will set out the
future direction and proposals for regeneration in the area, providing opportunities
for significant economic investment, social inclusion and environmental
enhancement.
The Spatial Plan will interpret the Corporation’s Regeneration Framework and
will seek to optimise Thurrock’s assets including its extensive river frontage,
and excellent connections into London and the rest of the south east, through
the provision of high quality, sustainable development, including decent
homes, schools, employment and recreational open space.
