We offer expertise in five key areas of development activity:
Regeneration
Urban Expansion
Strategic Planning
Development Planning
Implementation
In addition to bringing a full complement of planning, design and master planning skills to projects of this nature, we offer excellent skills in project management, multi-disciplinary team co-ordination and stakeholder consultation. Through our work we often identify opportunities to challenge conventional approaches to planning and design, which has led to some of the UK’s most innovative and pioneering urban development projects. Because of this approach we have established a long term commitment to a number of major projects throughout the UK.

Regeneration |
We co-ordinate and lead in the preparation of comprehensive strategies for regeneration of whole communities, town centres, declining housing estates, brownfields and waterfronts. |

|
 |
|
Urban Expansion |
We plan and design new settlements and town expansion schemes, and new communities within existing urban areas. We have had master planning and planning responsibilities for two out of three of the UK’s approved new settlements. |

Strategic Planning |
We prepare development frameworks for large complex sites or areas where certainty on infrastructure and quality are critical but land use flexibility important – our frameworks provide the basis for infrastructure design and individual master plans or building design to be prepared. |

|
Development Planning |
We represent clients in promoting sites through Regional Spatial Strategies, Examinations in Public and Inquiries. We present and co-ordinate evidence and appear as expert witnesses. We also assist local authorities in the preparation of development plan documents. |

 |
|
Implementation |
We prepare detailed implementation strategies for major projects, prepare design codes and briefs, manage the complex discharge of planning conditions, work closely with our clients and other consultants, and liaise directly with architects and developers to ensure the quality of what is built on the ground is as closely matched to the project’s original vision as possible. |
