David Lock Associates (DLA) has been commissioned by Land Acquisition & Promotion (LAP) as Planning consultant for its proposed Garden Village on the site of the former Deenethorpe Airfield, in East Northamptonshire.
This large site in the countryside to the east of Corby was used by the US Air Force during the Second World War.
The scheme is one of 14 Garden Villages in England for which the Government announced it will provide financial and other support in January 2017. The development is identified in the adopted North Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy.
1,500 homes are proposed, alongside new employment opportunities, community and education facilities, public open space and new woodland.
A Masterplan and Delivery Strategy for the proposal will be produced later in 2017, paving the way for an outline planning application to be submitted towards the end of the year. Key to DLA’s role will be managing a multi-consultancy project team in preparing the material for that planning application.
