David Lock Associates (DLA) is acting as Planning Consultant to Buckland Development Ltd, to coordinate and submit an Outline Planning application for a 6,000-home new community in Hampshire. The new Garden Village of Welborne will be located in an area of almost 1,000 acres north of Fareham, with parks, playing fields and a network of green walks.
In addition to the 6,000 new homes (up to 30% of which will be affordable), four new schools will be built; retail and leisure will be provided within a district centre and village centre with market square; a commercial and business centre will create new job opportunities; and alongside the public transport links, a network of pedestrian and cycle routes will be created allowing movement around Welborne, and connections to Fareham and other local areas. Importantly, the application seeks planning consent to improve M27, J10 to an all moves junction.
DLA, working as part of a multi-consultancy project team, submitted the planning application to Fareham Borough Council on March 6th, 2017. Partner David Keene said “Welborne is a key component of planning strategies for both Fareham and South Hampshire. We will be collaborating with the Borough Council to commence the construction of new homes as soon as possible.”
