Active Design Guidance Consultation

As part of DLA’s longstanding work with Sport England, we have recently been commissioned to update their Active Design Guidance, which we previously drafted on their behalf back in 2015 and 2007. It demonstrates how planning and urban design can create places which encourage people to be active, and thus have significant positive effects on people’s health and wellbeing.

We are keen to ensure we create something which is useful for the sector, and that will provide helpful and useful guidance for as many people who interact with planning, health and urban design as possible. We are seeking a diverse range of views on which elements we should focus on moving forward, as well as barriers and challenges to delivering healthy places, as well as best practice you know of or have been involved in.

If you’d like to help or contribute, we have produced a short online questionnaire which should only take a few minutes to complete: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/active-design
