DLA planner wins award

DLA’s Assistant Planner Emma Woodhouse has been awarded the RTPI North East Student Award for a group project titled ‘Northern Imaginaries’, as part of her Masters in Planning course at Newcastle University before she joined the company in June 2018.

Emma’s work focused on the causes and implications of the north/south divide, and the impact perceptions have on continuing the disparity.
The research ranged from the miners’ strikes through attempts to empower the north through the Northern Powerhouse initiative and used Sunderland’s bid for City of Culture as a case study.
