Working on behalf of Hanwood Park LLP, the principal developer/promoter of the East Kettering Sustainable Urban Extension of up to 5,500 dwellings and related development (now known as Hanwood Park), DLA has just completed an intensive period of work involving the preparation and submission of nine reserved matters applications for new homes, strategic open space, outdoor sports and primary infrastructure to serve the overall development. The applications were for the approval of details of 350, 219 and 159 homes on three separate parcels, three link roads and drainage, a primary sub-station, outdoor sports pitches, pavilion and play areas and the landscaping of the central bowl at the heart of the development. The applications were prepared over just a few months with the last being submitted to Kettering Borough Council just hours before the 10-year time period to submit reserved matters pursuant to the outline permission expired on 31st March 2020.
Duncan Chadwick, Partner leading on the project said:
“This was a tremendous team effort, not only by the DLA team of Donna Lavender, Victoria Owen, Adrian Webb and Scott Gibson but the whole client/consultant group and was achieved at a time when the whole country was in a state of chaos and confusion over the Covid-19 crisis and lockdown. However, despite this we were very pleased to meet the challenge and submit all the applications in time, working closely with the Council to get the submissions validated when they themselves were hampered by working from home and other operational difficulties.”
