Work has commenced on the construction of seven dwellings on a canal-edge site in Milton Keynes following an innovative arrangement between David Lock Associates, the landowner and a local housebuilder.
The land had been used for wintering by travelling showpeople over many decades. When the landowner sought to retire and sell the land but with limited ability to fund the technical work required, DLA stepped in. Our in -house viability and design teams developed a flexible proposal for up to nine homes which allowed for an apartment or housing approach making the most of the waterfront location. Our planning team successfully negotiated planning permission overturning a Local Plan designation.
DLA subsequently marketed the site with agents on behalf of the landowner, aiding the sale to local housebuilder Resolution Homes. DLA was then retained to deliver the Reserved Matters consent and discharge of conditions.
