Today sees the launch of the LGA Toolkit for the Effective Delivery of Strategic Sites. DLA worked with the LGA to prepare the Toolkit, which brings together a wealth of public and private sector experience in an interactive format.
The Toolkit is designed to provide local authorities and their partners with practical advice and best practice on how to select, allocate, consent and build successful development at a strategic scale. Using examples from across the country, it highlights key considerations which shape decision making at each stage of the planning process; illustrates the way in which decisions at the outset can shape future outcomes; and signposts practical measures to help successfully overcome challenges.
Users can dip in and out of the Toolkit to focus on a particular aspect as needed, or follow the ‘central threads’ in the document to see how these affect development outcomes throughout the planning process. Key data and links to a number of strategic development projects are also provided as part of the case studies.
