Permission granted for brownfield redevelopment in Buckingham

David Lock Associates has secured full planning permission for the demolition of a derelict former Scout Hall and its replacement with four terraced dwellings in the town of Buckingham.

Aylesbury Vale District Council approved the application, submitted on behalf of Brickhill Homes, for the small scheme which will result in the redevelopment of this brownfield site to provide much-needed homes, an enhanced street scene and viable use for the derelict site. The former Scout Hall was home to the 3rd Buckingham Scout Group for over thirty years until it was relocated to its new site at Embleton Way in 2016. Since then, the building has remained vacant and unmaintained, unsuitable for community use and a target for vandalism.

DLA Assistant Planner Victoria Owen, who lead the work, said:
“I am pleased for our client, who saw the residential potential of this site to provide a small housing scheme, in keeping with its surroundings. DLA’s close involvement throughout, with regular communication with Aylesbury Vale District Council, has secured planning approval for a high-quality scheme by a small housebuilder, which should be a real asset to this locality.”
