Permission secured for new homes at Macclesfield

DLA has secured outline planning permission for 310 new homes to the south of Macclesfield, on behalf of Vistry Group.
Having secured the site’s release from the Green Belt and its allocation for housing in the Council’s Local Plan Strategy, which was adopted in July 2017, this marks a key milestone in unlocking the development potential of this site.
The scheme will provide a new frontage to the Macclesfield Canal, a children’s play area as part of an integrated network of green spaces and will deliver a biodiversity net gain through the retention of existing trees and hedgerows, and the creation of new wildlife habitats.
Land within the site has been identified to enable a new community building to be delivered, which will assist in integrating the new development with the established residential community at Lyme Green, across London Road.
