David Lock Associates has recently (05.09.2019) secured full planning permission for 233 dwellings at Barrow, near Clitheroe, Lancashire on behalf of Taylor Wimpey and David Wilson Homes.
The decision brings to a conclusion work by DLA on this site extending back to 1995. This work, on behalf of the landowners – Barrow Lands Company Limited – included promotion of the 20 hectares site through various Regional and Local Plans and two appeals. DLA obtained outline planning permission for 504 dwellings on the overall site in February 2014 following an appeal against non-determination and Public Inquiry. The northern part of the site is already under construction by a national housebuilder.
DLA Partner Duncan Chadwick said: “This has been a long saga but is reward for perseverance and the belief that the vision for the site could be achieved and delivered in an area in need of housing and on a very sustainable site, which was confirmed by the Secretary of State back in 2014 when he allowed our client’s appeal.”
