David Lock Associates were asked by the Two Mile Ash Environmental Group (TMAEG) if we could, as part of the company’s charitable activities, help the group to secure planning permission for an extension to and enhancement of a recreational route around Two Mile Ash.
The Bluebell Circuit, TMAEG’s biggest project yet, will provide extended log paths into the established Norway Maple Wood and connect existing local leisure routes with a new footbridge alongside Watling Street and complete a circular walk.
The new infrastructure will form fitting additions to the amenities of Two Mile Ash, and is actively supported by the landowners Milton Keynes Parks Trust as a project which will contribute to the city’s expanding network of accessible natural areas – opening up the wood with its wide swathes of spring bluebells for the enjoyment of the local community.
Commenting on the decision, Chris Gossop of TMAEG said “It’s gratifying to know that these relatively small interventions and enhancements in connecting our green spaces will make an enormous difference to the health and wellbeing of the residents of Two Mile Ash.”
