• Included an audit of potential development sites in and around the city, many of which are now implemented particularly along the River Wear.
  • Vision centred around a public realm strategy, with particular emphasis on exploiting the potential of the River Wear.
  • Key public realm projects have been implemented in line with the Vision, including the Market Place.
  • Accompanied by a master plan for the city centre including planning and design guidance and design briefs for key sites.
  • Strategies for city events programming also taken forward, devised in part with input from an expert user group – the Durham Voices – drawn from members of the public, local businesses, and the University.
  • Completed Vision documentation was taken forward as part of Durham City Council’s Area Action Plan for the city centre.
