We’re proud to share that David Lock Associates has been certified by Planet Mark for the second year running, recognising our continued efforts to measure and reduce our carbon footprint, and to deliver meaningful social value.
For this second year, measured from November 2023 to October 2024, our total market-based carbon footprint was 31.5 tCO₂e, with a footprint of 0.5 tCO₂e per employee. While we’ve grown in both team size and turnover, we’ve maintained a stable emissions profile, with Scope 1 and 2 emissions reducing compared to last year, as well as receiving an improved data quality score from our dedication to improved reporting.
How we’ve progressed:
A 1.5% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 carbon intensity (tCO₂e per £ turnover) compared to our previous reporting year, reflecting improved operational efficiency as our business has grown.
Improved emissions reporting across business travel and energy-related activity.
An organisational boundary score of 100%, outlining how we’ve accounted for emissions across our full operations, for a more complete and transparent footprint.
Over £156,000 in social value delivered, from time spent volunteering, supporting community causes, and ongoing charitable contributions, equating to £2,499 for each member of our team.
While our measured carbon footprint is higher than last year (up from 22.4 tCO₂e to 31.5 tCO₂e), this reflects more in-depth reporting, expanded Scope 3 coverage, growth within our team, and a more complete dataset. We’ve expanded what we measure, ensuring we capture a fuller picture of our environmental impact, helping us better understand where and how we can improve.
Our commitment to reducing emissions continues and we're building a stronger picture of our impact, with better insights, and forming a roadmap for improvement. You can view our full profile, and find out more about what this means on the Planet Mark Website: Planet Mark Member Page.
