Buckinghamshire Council, following a period of consultation, has adopted the Shenley Park Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). Shenley Park is located within the Aylesbury Vale area of Buckinghamshire and shares a boundary with Milton Keynes. The strategic site was allocated in the 2021 Local Plan for the development at least 1,150 dwellings as well as; a 110 bed care home/extra care facility, a primary school, local centre, link road through the site from the A421 into the Milton Keynes grid road system, active travel routes, landscaping and drainage. Working closely with officers at the Council, as our client and key contributor, David Lock Associates prepared the SPD agreeing further detail and guidance to the criteria outlined in the statutory development plan for; land use distribution, approach to access and movement, landscaping and placemaking to ensure a comprehensive and well-designed development can be achieved at Shenley Park. The SPD balances the interests of officers at Milton Keynes City Council, local stakeholder groups and the land promoters Crest Nicholson, to shape application proposals which are deliverable and meet local needs and aspirations. We continue to support officers at Buckinghamshire Council in respect of Shenley Park as the Council commences its consideration of Crest’s outline planning application for the development.
