6,000-home Hampshire Garden Village approved

This is a custom heading element.An outline planning application for Welborne Garden Village has received a 'resolution to grant' by Fareham Borough Council's Planning Committee. David Lock Associates submitted the application on behalf of Master Developer Buckland Development Ltd (Buckland). Working alongside Buckland's own in-house team of property specialists, David Lock Associates forms part of a wider consultancy team including AECOM, WSP, Barton Willmore and BECG. Buckland's focus is on placemaking and maintaining their long-term vision and involvement in the scheme.  In addition to the 6,000 homes planned for the Hampshire Garden Village, which lies north of the M27 at Junction 10, the proposals also include provision for: Significant local and regional infrastructure investment, including upgrades to Junction 10 of the M27 to allow traffic to enter and leave the motorway in both East and West directions, Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) service to Fareham, new access points and safety upgrades to the A32, and land reserved for a potential future rail halt; Promotion of health and well-being through generous green spaces, walkable neighbourhoods, sports facilities, community infrastructure and healthcare; Childcare and education needs with nurseries, three primary schools and a secondary school. Green space and environmental sustainability are also ingrained in the Master Plan, with woodland, parkland, play areas and natural habitat creation prioritised through each stage of development.
