DLA commissioned for strategic development in Braintree

David Lock Associates (DLA) has been appointed by the Unex Group as planning consultant and masterplanner for the redevelopment of the Towerlands Park site, a former equestrian centre to the north-west of Braintree, for up to 700 homes in Braintree district, including local retail facilities, early years and childcare nursery, and public open space for formal and informal recreation. DLA has been involved with the long-term promotion of the Towerlands Park site and it has been identified by Braintree District Council as a key Strategic Growth Location. It will therefore play a key role in the delivery of new homes, community facilities and infrastructure to Braintree. Duncan Chadwick, lead Partner on the project said, ‘we are very pleased with this news which represents another key step in delivering this strategic development in Braintree, to provide much-needed homes and facilities on this previously developed site that has been redundant for many years.’ It is anticipated that an outline planning application will be submitted by the end of 2018.
