This is a custom heading element.David Lock Associates have recently completed the Hinckley Town Centre Public Realm Masterplan for Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council. Working closely with the Council, Hinckley BID and a range of stakeholders, DLA created the masterplan setting out ideas for potential improvements to the town centre's public realm and key spaces.
Through public consultation, local residents and businesses were invited to have their say on the way the town centre's streets and spaces could look in the future. An exhibition was held over a number of days illustrating the masterplan and its ideas, some of which include:
* Creating a pedestrian loop to be called the 'Hinckley Hoop' with links that connect the town centre's key attractions
* Improvements to streets and spaces at Argent's Mead, Lower Bond Street and King Street, Regent Street, the entrance to the railway station and between Castle Street and the new Aldi supermarket development
* Future improvements to Castle Street, Station Road and main roads including the Rugby Road/Trinity Lane and Stockwell Head/Holliers Walk corridors
* Enhanced pedestrian signage to help people find their way around the town centre
Commenting on working with DLA to produce the masterplan, Judith Sturley, Principal Economic Regeneration Officer for Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council said:
"We are very pleased with the document and found the company excellent to work with and their detailed engagement with stakeholders has meant that local businesses and the community have fully embraced this visionary document."
