We’re pleased to share that Hinckley Borough Council has endorsed ‘Destination Hinckley’, a Strategic Vision for the town centre prepared by David Lock Associates.
The strategy sets out a direction for the future of Hinckley Town Centre, helping the council deliver on its ambition for “Destination Hinckley: a place where people wish to spend more time.” It provides actionable guidance to support the town’s retail and service offer, and expand opportunities for investment and development. Helping Hinckley create a town centre which is an attractive place for living, working, shopping and socialising, with a vibrant day and night culture.
This latest work builds on our longstanding relationship with the council, its officers and stakeholders, including the Business Improvement District and local community groups. Our previous project work, including the Public Realm Masterplan Strategy, Wayfinding Strategy, and feasibility studies for key regeneration sites, mean we have a unique and detailed understanding of Hinckley’s strengths, opportunities and challenges.
The Strategic Vision identifies four key themes; environment, services, activity, and access and movement, each supported by short, medium, and long-term actions to strengthen Hinckley’s appeal and resilience. Delivery will be led by the council, working in partnership with local businesses and stakeholders. Our work has provided the framework for this collaboration, helping to translate the vision for ‘Destination Hinckley’ into a practical strategy for investment, regeneration and long-term town centre viability.
You can view the Strategic Vision on the Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council website.
